Registration & Scheduling
Who Is Eligible?
Eligibility to take the APMLE is limited to students and graduates of colleges of podiatric medicine accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
This ensures every candidate has completed the academic and clinical training needed to be evaluated for licensure.
International Candidates: Graduates of non-U.S. programs are generally not eligible unless they complete additional training through a CPME-accredited school or program. Eligibility questions for internationally educated candidates should be directed to the NBPME or the appropriate state licensing board, as requirements can vary by jurisdiction.
Registration & Scheduling Steps
Step 1:
Register and Apply
- Go to the APMLE Registration Portal by clicking here
- First-time users: Create an account using a personal email address. Please do not use your school email address.
- Returning users: Log in with your existing credentials.
- Complete the application form and submit it for approval.
- Your dean and, where applicable, your state board must approve your application before payment is processed.
- Pay the $925 exam fee online with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
IMPORTANT: Do not create multiple accounts. Doing so may delay your exam results.
Step 2:
Receive Your Notice to Schedule (NTS)
- Roughly 60 days before your exam, you’ll receive a Notice to Schedule (NTS) email from Meazure.
- The NTS is the official authorization to schedule your exam appointment.
Step 3:
Schedule Your Exam Appointment
- Use the link in your NTS email to log in and select your test center, date, and time.
- Schedule early — seating is limited and may not be available within 50 miles if you wait.
- Appointments last up to 5 hours (4 hours of testing, plus 1 hour for check-in, breaks, and a short questionnaire).
- After scheduling, you’ll receive a confirmation email with:
- Your exam password
- Date and time
- Test center location
TIP: If no site is available within 50 miles, contact Meazure Candidate Support before finalizing your appointment.
Step 4:
Prepare for Exam Day
- Review the Policy & Procedures Manual, Content Outline, and the details presented in this website.
- Confirm that your physical valid, current (not expired), government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, military ID).
- Review refund, rescheduling, and test accommodation policies well in advance.
ADA Accommodations
- Requests for ADA accommodations must be submitted with your application.
- Your dean must review and approve the request.
- Submit requests at least 30 days in advance of your exam date.
- No additional fee is charged for accommodations.
- Documentation may be required for non-standard accommodations.
Refunds & Rescheduling
Refund and rescheduling deadlines vary by exam part and date, so review them carefully before making changes. Full details are in the official Rescheduling & Refund Policy. Seats are limited, so schedule promptly once your NTS is issued. Missing a registration deadline means waiting for the next exam window, and some states may set additional requirements.
Medical Emergencies
- If you miss your exam due to a medical emergency, submit a written request with official documentation (e.g., doctor’s letter) within 5 days of your scheduled date.
- Refunds are not guaranteed but may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Test Center Locations
- APMLE exams are delivered at Meazure Learning test centers across the U.S.
- Sites are generally located within 50 miles of AACPM podiatric colleges (Chicago, Cleveland, Des Moines, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, etc.).
